Uncover Fascinating History
North Wales is known for its incredible local heritage – take a trip to the local towns of Llangollen and Wrexham to see the views from the towering Pontcysyllte aqueduct, or the enchanting ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey. Only a little further out, you can find the ancient cities of Chester and Shrewsbury with ruins dating from the Roman times.
Mountain Biking
Over the last 10 years, Coed Llandegla has become well known as the place to come for your mountain biking adrenaline fix in the UK. There are a range trails to suit all abilities, from the picturesque Green Trail around the reservoir to the airtime-tastic B-Line trail and plenty in between, if you like mountain biking, then they have trails that you will love! The carefully designed network of trails ensure that progression is simple and finding a trail that suits your ability and fitness will be easy.
Whitewater Rafting
Rafting the River Dee in Llangollen is a fantastic experience where the whitewater seethes with exhilaration. Your instructors will ensure you have the best time whatever the weather conditions. No experience required, just a sense of adventure and fun. After a short safety brief from qualified instructors you’ll be on the water, experiencing the thrill and excitement of classic grade 2 – 4 whitewater river with 3kms of continuous rapids including the famous Serpents Tail and Town Falls, for friends and family not brave enough to take part they can come and watch you from the bridge in Llangollen.
Fauxdegla Premier Shooting Ground
Everyone is welcome at the The Fauxdegla,shooting ground. You don’t require a membership, just go along for a great day out. The location of the shooting ground is simply stunning, so the combination of a newly developed, well equipped shooting ground situated in a beautiful location is one that is hard to resist! Even if you have had no previous experience, you will be provided with tuition appropriate to your level of experience, from beginners upwards, and you will also be provided you with all the safety equipment you need.
